Cheddar Apple Tarts
This cheddar apple tart brings together buttery puff pastry, melty sharp cheddar, and thinly sliced apples in a sweet-meets-savory harmony that feels gourmet but comes together effortlessly.
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Servings: dependant
Ingredients :
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), thinly sliced
1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
1 tsp fresh thyme (optional but lovely)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
A pinch of salt and black pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out the puff pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly score a ½-inch border around the edges (don’t cut through).
Sprinkle most of the cheddar inside the border.
Layer the apple slices neatly on top of the cheese, overlapping slightly.
Drizzle with honey, scatter thyme, and season with salt and pepper.
Brush the edges with egg wash.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until puffed and golden.
Top with the remaining cheddar right when it comes out (it’ll melt into a glossy finish).
Note: Cooking time may vary depending on pan size and omelette thickness.
